Workshops
Christine is available to do workshops with teachers, students, and authors. Any of the topics below can be adjusted to meet the needs of a specific group.
TOPICS:
A. FINDING INSPIRATION - Don't know what to write or where to get ideas? This workshop explores ways writers discover character, setting, and plot ideas. Attendees will engage in writing exercises meant to spark creativity.
B. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR FICTIONAL PALS - Sometimes characters are shy and as writers we need to pull them out of their shells. This workshop offers several techniques for digging deeper into the characters we create. Writers will sketch and interview their characters as well as consider what might be hiding in their characters' closets.
C. OH, THE VOICES! - Should the story be told from the hero's, heroine's, or villain's point view? Should it be told from all three? First person or third person? These questions all need to be considered when writing a story. This workshop explores the pros and cons of the possible voices in a story (and helps quiet all the voices in your head). Writers will write scenes from different points of view and with different voices.
Contact Christine using the form below to discuss scheduling a workshop with your group. Workshops on other writing-related topics can be customized for your group as well. Just ask!
